COLLETON COUNTY, SC : A fatal collision on Interstate 95 on Thursday, August 17, 2017

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating following a fatal collision on Interstate 95.
Troopers say on Thursday, August 17 the driver of a 1998 Honda 4-door vehicle was stopped in the emergency lane of I-95, near the 44-mile marker.
We’re told the driver of a 2014 Ford Penski truck ran off the right side of the road and struck the sedan in the rear. The collision forced the car to be pushed into the wooded area.
The Penski truck then overturned following the impact.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.
A female passenger inside was transported with injuries to Trident Medical Center.
The driver and passenger inside the Penski truck were transported to Colleton Medical Center.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident at mile marker 44 blocked all lanes until just before 4 p.m.
We are working to learn the victim’s identity from the Colleton County Coroner’s Office.
