Chebanse, IL : A man died in a two-vehicle crash at Interstate 57 near County Road 37 in Columbia County On Monday, June 27th, 2016

A man died about 5 a.m. this morning in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 57 near County Road 37 in Chebanse.

The man merged into oncoming traffic in the southbound lane of I-57. He was partially thrown from the vehicle when he was hit from the side.

Iroquois County Coroner Bill Cheatum said an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning. Illinois State Police remained on scene as of the Daily Journal's press time.
