Menlo Park, CA : One dead in solo-vehicle accident, closing University Avenue near Bayfront Expressway on Tuesday, 21st April, 2020

A man was killed after being ejected from a vehicle during a solo-vehicle crash late Tuesday night, according to Menlo Park police.

The crash was reported on University Avenue just before Bayfront Expressway at about 10:28 p.m., police said.

Officers arrived at the scene within a minute of the first call and found the man ejected from the vehicle. Police said the preliminary investigation indicates that the driver lost control of his vehicle while driving at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle to roll over. He was pronounced dead at the scene by members of the Menlo Park Fire Protection District.

Eastbound University Avenue was expected to be closed for several hours Wednesday morning as police investigate the crash.
