Bakersfield, CA : Man killed in Highway 58 crash identified on Thursday, January 5th 2017

A 42-year-old man who was killed when his vehicle struck a big rig on Highway 58 Thursday afternoon has been identified.

Kyle Woodrow Bozarth died at the scene of the 1:18 p.m. crash on eastbound Highway 58 just west of Highway 223, according to a coroner's release.

Three passengers were taken to Kern Medical Center and Valley Children's Hospital in Madera with minor to major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers said in a release that the crash in which Bozarth died was one of six collisions that occurred over a short period involving 19 vehicles in foggy, rainy weather. Eastbound lanes of Highway 58 were closed for 31/2 hours.
