HOPKINTON, NH : Two seriously injured in crash on I-89 in Hopkinton on Monday, July 3, 2017
New Hampshire State Police arrested a Michigan man after a serious crash on Interstate 89 in Hopkinton on Monday morning, police said.
Safwan Talal Eid, 25, of Saginaw, Michigan, was driving a white 2017 Mazda CX-7 on I-89 South near mile marker 12.8 around 7:35 a.m., police said.
Eid was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed when he struck a black 2003 Dodge Durango, causing the Dodge to go off the highway and crash into a tree.
Two people in the Dodge were seriously injured and were taken to Concord Hospital. Police said their injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
Eid was charged with reckless operation. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Concord on Sept. 1.
