Orlando ,FL : Orange County road reopens after car crash and fire on Wednesday afternoon ,July 8th 2015
A crash with multiple injuries shut down a busy east Orange County road on Wednesday afternoon for hours.
Orange County Fire Rescue said the crash was reported at Lake Underhill Road and South Dean Road just before 3 p.m. and two patients were taken to an area hospital as a trauma alert.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Marcos Acevedo Lozada, 55, was driving faster than the flow of eastbound traffic on Lake Underhill Road when he struck the back of a Nissan Altima, driven by Pauline Donaldson, 83.
Troopers said Lozada was unable to stop and traveled into the westbound traffic, where he struck a Ford van driven by Santos Ocasio, 54, head-on.
One of the vehicles involved in the crash ignited and the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle, according to officials.
