Saint James, MO : South Carolina tractor trailer driver seriously hurt in I-44 accident on Sunday, October, 22nd 2017
A South Carolina tractor trailer driver sustained serious injuries in an early Sunday morning accident on I-44 in Phelps County. Joshua M. Moore, age 35, of Chesnee, South Carolina lost control of his westbound 2006 Volvo tractor trailer as it traveled off of the north side of I-44 at mile marker 186. The truck struck an embankment causing it to jack knife, as it traveled up the embankment striking a bridge pillar. The truck came to a rest on top of the guard rail. Moore was transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center by Phelps County Ambulance and was later transferred to University Hospital in Columbia. Assisting with Missouri State Highway Patrol were Cpl. G. A. Weddle (744), Sgt. R. A. Copeland (308), Cpl. J. L. Keathley (838), Trooper J.M. Van Meter (1396), the Rolla Police Department, Rolla City Fire Department, Phelps County Ambulance, and Missouri Department of Transportation.
