Bristol, WI : Two people injured in crash on Highway 151 in Dane County on Sunday, Aug 30, 2015

A man trying to merge his car on Highway 151 in the Town of Bristol early Sunday crashed into another car before hitting a tree, according to the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to the crash about 5:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 151, north of a truck-driving school. The merging driver, who authorities say caused the crash, had to be cut from his car and was taken by helicopter to UW Hospital, deputies said. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to a news release.

The driver of the other car was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and authorities say alcohol was not a factor. The crash closed southbound lanes of Highway 151 for about an hour.
