MENANDS, NY : Pedestrian dies after being hit by car on Thursday, 1st September 2016

A woman is dead after authorities say she was hit by a car as she was crossing a four-lane roadway in upstate New York.

The crash occurred around 4 p.m. Thursday in Menands near Albany. The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center with head injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Authorities didn't immediately identify the woman, but police say she was in her 30s.

The crash remains under investigation.
