One teenage girl was killed and two others were injured Friday night in Hanford after their 2007 Toyota struck a guy wire, two trees and a fence, the California Highway Patrol said.
Around 10:05 p.m., the vehicle, which was occupied by three Hanford girls, was traveling east on Hanford-Armona Road where it turns into Front Street when the car left the roadway, the CHP said. The vehicle struck a Pacific Gas & Electric Co. guy wire, two trees and a brick-and-steel fence before coming to a rest.
One of the two 17-year-old passengers was killed. The driver, 16, and second passenger were injured and transported to Adventist Medical Center-Hanford, the CHP said.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be involved, and all three were wearing seat belts, the CHP said.
