Burrton,KS : Burrton man injured in U.S. 50 crash on September, Wednesday 27th 2017

A crash at U.S. 50 and Buhler Road on Wednesday afternoon injured an elderly Burrton man.

Donald Legleiter, 73, of Burrton, was southbound on Buhler Road in a 2016 Chevy Traverse at about 1:30 p.m. and initially stopped for the stop sign at U.S. 50, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported.

When Legleiter pulled onto the highway, however, he failed to yield to an eastbound 2010 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Joshua Freeman, 19, of Sedgwick, slamming into the side of Freeman’s truck.

Legleiter was transported to the VA Hospital in Wichita.

A passenger in his vehicle, Samantha Baumann, 46, of Burrton, was not injured. Both Legleiter and Baumann were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

Freeman, who was also wearing a seat belt, was also not injured, the patrol reported.
