Barberton, OH : 58-year-old woman died in car crash on 5th Street near Lockwood Road on Wednesday, March 9, 2016

Authorities are investigating the crash that took the life of a 58-year-old woman on March 9 on 5th Street in Barberton.

Police said Claudia Hooser, was traveling northbound on 5th Street near Lockwood Road when her 2005 Kia Rio went left of center and struck a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee around 2:45 p.m.

The 69-year-driver of the Jeep was extricated from the wreckage and flown to Akron City Hospital, police said. His condition is unknown at this time.

Hooser was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
