The driver of a semi-truck was crushed by a shifting load when he came to an abrupt stop on Narcoossee Road in Osceola County on Wednesday afternoon, troopers said. According to Florida Highway Patrol, a fire department vehicle was responding to an emergency when it pulled out of its station near the intersection with Yukon Street. The driver of the semi hit the brakes, and the large metal material on the back of the truck crashed through the cab. Gary Reagan said when he opened the door to the cab of the truck, he felt the driver's pulse. While faint, Reagan said the man was still alive. Reagan did everything he could to try to save him. "A few of the guys tried to pull on the seat but it was too tight, you know, it was too much weight," Reagan said. "Terrible, it was terrible. I'm a truck driver so I had to go. I'd seen enough." Troopers are investigating to see if the driver secured the load properly. Source : Semi driver killed when metal load slams through cab on Narcoossee Road
