Sacramento, CA : Woodland driver killed in Hwy. 99 collision on Saturday, 29th August, 2020

A Woodland driver died in a Saturday evening accident on Hwy. 99, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The CHP didn’t identify the motorist, only that he was 46-years-old and was driving a Honda Accord. As of Monday, the driver’s identity was still not known.

According to the CHP, the accident occurred at about 11:52 p.m. and was reported as a traffic collision involving a wrong-way driver who was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-5, north of Hwy 99.

CHP units responded to the traffic collision and determined a Toyota Camry was traveling on I-5 northbound when it collided head-on with the wrong-way vehicle, a Honda Accord, just north of Hwy. 99.


The Honda became airborne as a result of the crash and the left portion of the Honda collided with a Volvo D13 that was also traveling on I-5 northbound.

The 46-year-old male driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.

The estimated speed of the vehicles was not reported.
