Salt Lake City, UT : 1 dead in I-15 crash near Clearfield on Wednesday, August 20, 2014

Authorities are investigating after a semitrailer hit and killed a man on Interstate 15 near Clearfield. Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Dwayne Baird said Thursday that officers are working to identify the man. Baird says the pedestrian was killed instantly when he stepped in front of the truck Wednesday at about 10 p.m. He was walking on the northbound ramp to 700 South when the truck struck him. Troopers found him dead at the scene. Investigators say they have few details on the man they believe was in his 20s. The driver of the trick was not injured. An investigation continues.
