Lindon, UT : 25-year-old woman dies in Lindon crash on Wednesday night, June 15, 2016

A 25-year-old woman is dead after a crash in Lindon on Wednesday night.

Vanessa Hernandez Merino, of Orem, was a passenger in a car traveling south on Geneva Road at about 7:45 p.m. when a 20-year-old driver turned left on 200 South in front of a northbound pickup truck, said Lindon Police Chief Cody Cullimore.

The truck struck the right side of the car, causing "pretty major damage and "basically driving over" the vehicle, Cullimore said.

Merino, who died on impact, was sitting in the back seat next to her 7-month old baby, who was uninjured in the crash. The drivers of the car and truck suffered minor injuries.

Cullimore said there was no impairment with the driver and all occupants were wearing seat belts.
