DES MOINES, IA : Bellevue man killed by Des Moines Police during pursuit on Tuesday, 30th July 2024

A Bellevue, Neb., man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Des Moines earlier this week.

Weston Derby, 45, was shot dead by Des Moines Police officers after a chase ensued early Tuesday when Des Moines Police officers responded to report of a restraining order violation at a home in the southeast area of the city.
