Four people were killed when a car crashed into a tree in Northridge Friday night.

Authorities responded to the 9900 block of North Balboa Boulevard, near Lassen Street, around 10:56 p.m.

AIR7 HD captured footage of firefighters examining the scene as a BMW sedan appeared to be sheared in half against a tree.

Authorities said the vehicle crashed into a tree then a wall. All the occupants inside were dead at the scene.

Lassen Street was closed between Balboa Boulevard and Hayvenhurst Avenue.

The cause of the crash was unknown.
