Camillus, NY : Man charged with drugged driving after head-on crash in central New York on Wednesday, April 8, 2015
A 22-year-old man has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs after a head-on crash in central New York that killed a 79-year-old woman.
State Trooper Jack Keller says David Yarinich of Syracuse is believed to have been on heroin at the time of the crash.
Keller says Yarinich had been driving erratically in the Syracuse suburb of Camillus around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday when he veered into oncoming traffic. His 2008 BMW X3 crashed into a 2003 Toyota Avalon.
The Toyota's driver, Jeanne Armstrong of Syracuse, was pronounced dead at the scene. Yarinich suffered a broken ankle.
