Coffey County, KS : Clearwater man, 80, killed in crash in Coffey County at US-75 and K-58 highways on Sunday, 22nd July 2018

One person was killed Sunday morning in a crash in Coffey County, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 10:04 a.m. Sunday at the junction of US-75 and K-58 highways, about seven miles south of Burlington.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol’s crash log, a 1999 Hyundai Tiburon that was southbound on US-75 highway was stopped to make a left turn onto eastbound K-58 and was yielding to a 2001 Freightliner semi-trailer.

The patrol said the Hyundai was struck from behind by a southbound 2005 Ford F-350 pickup truck.

After the impact, the Ford pickup truck crossed the center line, striking the semi head-on.
