Olympia, WA : Male driver taken into custody after two-car collision at North Division Street and East Magnesium Road on Sunday, 8th December, 2019
One man was taken into custody Sunday evening after a crash near the Division wye that police believe may have been caused by impaired driving.
The two car crash at North Division Street and East Magnesium Road was reported to police around 5 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release. One person received “substantial bodily injuries” in the crash and was taken to a hospital for treatment, the Police Department said. The male driver of the vehicle believed to be at-fault in the crash, which closed lanes on Division for an investigation just south of the Highway 2 and Highway 395 split, was taken into custody facing charges of vehicular assault.
Impairment is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to police. Major Crimes detectives were called to the scene to investigate. Spokane Police Officer Richie Plunkett said Sunday evening he did not know the gender of the person taken to the hospital for treatment.
