IDAHO FALLS, ID : Pocatello woman transported to hospital following I-15 crash on Wednesday, January 18th 2017

Authorities are asking the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a car crash that sent a Pocatello woman to the hospital.

The crash occurred on Wednesday morning on Interstate 15 at mile marker 116.6 near Idaho Falls.

According to the Idaho State Police, Emily Chatterton, 24, of Pocatello, was driving a 2006 Volvo passenger car northbound on I-15 at approximately 9:40 a.m. A black vehicle in front of her suddenly braked and made an illegal u-turn in the emergency crossover. Police said that the median crossovers on highways are for use by authorized and emergency vehicles only.

Chatterton maneuvered to avoid a collision, then lost control of her vehicle and rolled onto the right shoulder.

She was transported to East Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls by ground ambulance. Her condition as of Wednesday evening is unknown. Idaho State Police said she was wearing a seatbelt.

The Idaho State Police is requesting anybody who saw this incident to please contact dispatch by calling 208-525-7277 so they can assist in identifying the driver of the other vehicle.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
