Granton,WI : Grant County school bus crash on April, friday 28th 2017
Two people suffered serious injuries during a crash between a van and a school bus in Grant County on Friday afternoon, the Grant County Sheriff's Office said.
In a news release, officials said a 64-year-old man was driving a school bus from Warco Transportation for the Platteville School District at 4:03 p.m. when a van pulled out in front of him, causing him to hit the van.
The van, which was being driven by Jordan Clark, 17, of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, was traveling east on Baker Ford Road near Harrison North Road when Clark pulled out from a yield sign and into the bus's path, the release said. The bus driver swerved to avoid the van but was unable to avoid the collision, officials said.
Clark was extricated from the van and suffered serious injuries, the release said. Her father, Robert Clark, 39, who was riding in the front passenger seat at the time of the crash, was able to free himself from the van but also suffered serious injuries.
The bus driver was uninjured, the release said.
A Grant County dispatcher said the driver was the only person on the bus at the time of the crash.
