LANSING, MI : One person killed, 3 injured in crash in Lansing on Monday, 17th February, 2020
One person was killed and three injured when a vehicle struck a utility pole and rolled onto its side in south Lansing overnight.
Officers were called to the 2400 block of West Miller Road, between South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Pleasant Grove Road at 3:24 a.m. Monday, Lansing Police Public Information Director Robert Merritt said.
The vehicle was on its side when officers arrived, with three people trapped inside and one out of the vehicle, Merritt said. The driver, front passenger and rear passenger on the driver's side were pinned in the vehicle.
The driver, a 44-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene and three others were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, Merritt said. The driver's name will be released once his family is notified of his death.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with additional information can call Sgt. Don Porter at 517-483-4667.
