LINDEN, NJ : A 27-year-old Jersey City man with assault following a crash on Sunday, June 11, 2017
City police said they charged a 27-year-old Jersey City man with assault following a crash early Sunday morning that seriously injured three teenagers.
In a statement, police said officers responding just after midnight to a report of a crash at the intersection of South Park Avenue and Klem Avenue found a 2014 Chevy Camaro traveling southbound on Park Avenue had collided with a 2016 Toyota Rav 4, which was traveling east on Klem.
Three of the Toyota's passengers -- a 15-year-old Linden girl, a 15-year-old Irvington Girl and a 15-year-old Irvington boy --were taken to University Hospital in Newark with serious injuries, according to police. All three are reported to be in serious but stable condition.
Following an investigation by the department's Accident Investigation Team, the Camaro's driver, Ashton Pringle, was charged with third-degree assault by auto and released on a summons to appear June 26 in state Superior Court, police said.
Police said the crash is still under investigation, and asked anyone with information to contact Investigator Jimmy Solano at 908-474-8505.
