Greenwood, SC : Woman dies after two-vehicle wreck in Newberry County on Friday, October, 6th 2017

A 56-year-old woman is dead after failing to stop at a stop sign and hitting the side of a tractor-trailer, according to officials.
At 3:50 p.m. Friday, Nanette Wilson Workman, of Newberry, was killed in a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of S.C. Highway 34 and General Henderson Road, according to a release from the Newberry County Coroner’s Office.
The wreck occurred when the driver of a 2005 Ford F150 failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the side of a tractor trailer driving east along S.C. Highway 34, said Lance Cpl. Gary Miller with the state Highway Patrol.
The driver of the Ford was not wearing a seat belt, and died on the scene, Miller said. The driver of the Freightliner tractor trailer was not injured, and there were no passengers in either vehicle, Miller said.
Newberry County EMS, emergency services and deputies were on the scene, along with a hazardous materials team, since fuel spilled, according to an email alert from the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.
