Boone Count, KY : Woman killed in crash after truck crosses center line; her children injured on Richwood Road in Boone County on Thursday, 10th January 2019

A mother was killed Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Richwood Road in Boone County.

According to Boone County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tom Scheben, the crash occurred around 7:20 a.m. when a man driving a flatbed truck tried to get back on the road after it went off the roadway.

The truck crossed the center line and struck an oncoming Honda Accord, killing 45-year-old Amy Skiba of Union. Her two children, both 12 years old, were in the vehicle and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Darrin Carroll, 42, of Union, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet flatbed truck eastbound on Richwood Road when the right axles went off the side of the road, deputies said.

When Carroll brought it back to the roadway, the truck crossed the center line and struck the Accord in a "head-on, side-swipe manner," officials said.
