Hillsborough ,FL : 67- ears old Dennis Barefoot and another passenger injured and closes northbound lanes of I-75 after Car crash on Sunday morning ,April 19 2015

A car crash Saturday morning closed northbound lanes on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County for several hours, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Dennis Barefoot, 67, was driving northbound in the outside lane on I-75 near Bruce B. Downs Boulevard around 11:50 a.m., while Sarah Suh, 19, was in the inside lane and both tried to merge into the center lane at the same time, authorities said. Suh drove back into the inside lane to avoid a collision but lost control and struck Barefoot's car in the center lane, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Barefoot and his passenger Linda Barefoot, 66, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Tampa General Hospital, while Suh and her passenger Henry McCabe, 20, were not injured, authorities said. Both drivers were ticketed for improper lane change, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
