A man was killed in a vehicle accident on I-85 in Rowan County Thursday, according to officials.
The crash happened just after 2 p.m. on southbound I-85 near Peeler Road and mile marker 71. Troopers said a car driving in the far right lane was struck by a pick-up truck traveling at high speeds.
The car reportedly then spun out and the truck flipped, landing off the roadway on its roof. The driver of the truck, later identified as 64-year-old Johnny Bartlett of Warsaw, was ejected from the vehicle.
Officials said Bartlett was airlifted from the scene, but later died.
Troopers have not said if any other injuries were reported.
