Staten Island, NY : 2 seriously injured in a multi-car accident on the Staten Island Expressway Sunday night, July 10, 2016

A multi-car accident on the Staten Island Expressway left two people seriously injured Sunday night.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:19 p.m. near Exit 13 on the expressway, according to the FDNY.

It left motorists with a more-than hour-long delay, according to a tweet from Unusual traffic.

The injuries for the two individuals seriously injured were not life-threatening. Two others were left with minor injuries, according to a spokesman for the FDNY.

All were transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze.

It was unclear what caused the incident. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
