Putnam County FL : Passenger dies in motorcycle crash on State Road 20 in Putnam County on Friday March 4 2016

A Tampa woman was killed Friday afternoon when the motorcycle on which she was a passenger collided with a car on State Road 20 in Putnam County near Hawthorne, reported the Florida Highway Patrol.
Killed was Sandra Lee Ricard, 56. The driver of the 2009 Harley-Davidson Sportster, Lawrence Albert Ricard, 64, of Tampa, was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital in critical condition, FHP reported in a press release.
The crash happened about 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of SR 20 and County Road 21.
Allen Odell Thomas, 63, of Hawthorne, was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant west on SR 20 while the Ricards were east on SR 20. FHP reported that Thomas attempted to turn left onto CR 21, turning into the path of the motorcycle and colliding in the intersection.
The Ricards, who were not wearing helmets, were thrown from the motorcycle. Sandra Ricard died at the scene, FHP reported. Thomas was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
