Lake City, FL : 74-year-old woman died after single-car crash in Columbia County on Wednesday, November 23, 2016

A 74-year-old woman died Wednesday after the car she was driving drifted onto the shoulder of County Road 250 in Columbia County and overturned, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers identified the driver as Mattie Lou Prescott of Wellborn, Fla.

The Toyota Corolla was approaching Northwest Serene Court just before 12:30 p.m. when the car drifted onto the north shoulder, causing it to rotate back across the road and overturn, according to the crash report.

Prescott was taken to the Lake City Medical Center, where she died, troopers said.
