Billings, MT : Child struck, killed by pickup truck in parking lot on Thursday, February 5, 2015
The Yellowstone County coroner's office on Friday identified the toddler who died after being hit by a truck in Billings on Thursday as Zachary Ray Wyles Jr.
The boy is the son of Zachary Wyles and Aleada Wyles, said Deputy Coroner Cliff Mahoney. The toddler, age 21 months, died of blunt-force trauma to the head, he said. The coroner’s office performed an examination Friday morning.
The accident happened at 2:16 p.m. at the Rose Park Apartments, 2345 Ave. C., when a pickup driven by a 35-year-old woman backed out of a parking space, Billings police said Thursday. The driver told officers she didn’t see the toddler.
An investigation is continuing, and no tickets or charges have been filed, a police department spokesman said Friday.
