Portland,OR : Man dead after shooting, crash in Old Town on September, Thursday 7th 2017

Portland police are investigating the death of a man after a shooting and a car crash in Old Town/Chinatown Thursday night.

Police arrived at NW 5th Avenue and NW Everett Street after getting a report of a shooting and found a crashed white Mercury sedan with one person dead inside.

Witnesses told KOIN 6 News they heard multiple gunshots and saw people in 2 cars firing at each other. Officers say the white Mercury sedan was shot at and then crashed into a small power box on the north side of the road and then crashed into a Ford pick-up that was parked near the northeast corner of NE Everett Street and NW 5th Avenue.

Officers found evidence of gunfire at NW 6th and Everett and bullet strikes into a building.

A suspect has not been identified.

Detectives with the Detective Division’s Homicide Detail, a criminalist with the Forensic Evidence Division, and Central Precinct officers will continue to investigate.
