Anderson, IN : No injuries after a 3-vehicle crash on I-69 near Exit 222 Sunday evening, May 15, 2016
Three vehicles collided on Interstate 69 near Exit 222 Sunday evening, causing one to flip and land in the median.
No one was injured in the accident that shut down southbound travel for about 20 minutes as crews cleaned up the wreckage.
The accident was caused when a gray vehicle braked to avoid a disabled vehicle that was stopped on the shoulder. A white Pathfinder following close behind swerved into the median to avoid hitting the four-door sedan and rolled, officers at the scene said.
The Pathfinder rolled once, striking the four-door sedan and another vehicle, but all drivers and passengers walked away from the accident unharmed, officers said.
"Yeah, he's (the driver of the Pathfinder) lucky, it could have been a lot worse," an Anderson officer who didn't want to be identified said at the scene.
