WAPANUCKA, OK : Oklahoma volunteer firefighter killed in accident involving horse on Friday, 6th October 2016
A volunteer firefighter was killed after hitting a horse on an Oklahoma highway.
According to KXII, Chance Brooks was on his way to work at the Wapanucka Volunteer Fire Department when a horse wandered into his path.
Brooks died from his injuries at the scene of the crash.
Authorities say Brooks was discovered by another driver who almost hit the horse and saw the vehicle underneath a tree.
The horse, which came from the Rodney Reed ranch, is suspected of jumping three fences to get to the highway.
The horse was also killed in the crash.
