Campbellsburg,KY : One killed in motorcycle crash on November, Thursday 9th 2017
A motorcycle accident on Barney School Road last Thursday afternoon resulted in the death of a Campbellsville man.
Bobby Veatch, 46, of Campbellsville, passed away at Taylor Regional Hospital due to injuries sustained in the accident, which occurred just a little before 4 p.m. Thursday.
A report from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office states that Veatch, operating a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle, was traveling on Barney School Road in the opposite direction of a 2018 Fed-Ex truck driven by 24-year-old Cody Stockwell of Guston, Kentucky.
The operator of the Fed-Ex truck told deputies that he did not see Veatch approaching and began to make a left turn across the opposite lane.
The report states that Veatch attempted to brake but struck the front passenger tire of the truck.
A helicopter was called and landed at the scene, but the TCSO report states that Veatch was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by Taylor County EMS.
Veatch was pronounced deceased by Taylor County Coroner Daniel Cook at Taylor Regional Hospital.
Stockwell and a passenger in his vehicle were uninjured in the accident.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Houk and Campbellsville and Taylor County Fire Departments responded and assisted at the scene.
The investigation is open and ongoing.
A pair of single-vehicle accidents last Wednesday and Thursday resulted in two individuals being airlifted, according to reports from Kentucky State Police and the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office.
A single-vehicle accident on KY 289 (Old Lebanon Road) Wednesday afternoon resulted in a Campbellsville man being airlifted from the scene.
A report from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office states that Mickey McFall, 54, was operating a 2000 Chevy van traveling south on Old Lebanon Road when he crossed into the opposite lane, leaving the roadway and striking a bridge wall head-on.
Campbellsville Fire-Rescue and Taylor County Fire-Rescue extricated McFall from the vehicle. McFall was then airlifted from the scene by AirEvac.
TCSO was also assisted at the scene by Campbellsville-Taylor County EMS.
TCSO Deputy Branden Wilson is the investigating officer.
A single-vehicle accident on KY 210 at the intersection of Attilla Road early Thursday morning resulted in a Louisville man being airlifted to the University of Louisville hospital, according to a report from Kentucky State Police.
Lowell Keith Cochran, 57, was ejected from his vehicle after the KSP report says that he hydroplaned, left the roadway, and overturned at 5:57 a.m. last Thursday.
KSP Trooper Pete Binkley investigated the accident and was assisted at the scene by the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department.
