Reno County, KS : Burrton teen hurt in single-vehicle Reno County crash on Tuesday, 26th November, 2019
A Burrton teen was injured late Tuesday night when he missed a curve on a Reno County road and hit a tree.
Jacob Steffen, 17, was southbound on Kent Road in a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 about 11:20 p.m. when he failed to negotiate the curve at Trailswest Road and went off the roadway, striking a tree, according to a report by Reno County sheriff’s deputy Jack Trussell.
Steffen called his mother, who responded to the scene and took him to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, where she called 911 after arriving.
Evidence at the crash scene indicated Steffen wasn’t wearing his seat belt and airbags didn’t deploy, Trussell reported. The teen’s condition was not available.
