A 79-year-old woman is dead and four others were injured after a crash near Apopka Sunday afternoon, officials said.

Troopers say Dorthy Anderson was driving two kids, ages 6 and 9, on Kelly Park Road around 3:15 p.m. when a 2013 Acura TL plowed into the back of her 2003 Buick Century, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Sgt. Kim Montes said for unknown reasons the driver, 34-year-old Christian Echeverri, failed to slow as he approached Anderson's car.

Anderson was taken to Florida Hospital Apopka where she died, Montes said.
