Monett, MO : 4 hurt in wreck on Hwy. 96 on Saturday, November 12th 2016
Four people were injured Saturday in a wreck at 12:40 p.m. on Highway 96, two miles west of Miller.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kevin Parnell, 16, of Miller, was driving a 2005 Ford Ranger southbound and attempted to make a left turn onto Highway 96 from Farm Road 1097. Parnell's vehicle pulled into the path of a 20120 Honda CRV, being driven by Laurie Whaley, 60, of Carthage, causing Whaley's vehicle to strike it broadside.
Whaley and a passenger in her vehicle, Kelvin Whaley, 55, of Carthage, each suffered serious injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Parnell suffered minor injuries, and a passenger in his vehicle, Nicholas Moenkhoff, 16, of South Greenfield, suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
All involved were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.
