Good Hart, MI : Two people injured in motorcycle crash in Emmet County Readmond Township on Tuesday, May 24, 2016

A motorcycle driver and his passenger were injured in a single-vehicle traffic crash south of Good Hart Tuesday.

According to officials from the Emmet County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened at about 5:15 p.m. on South Lake Shore Drive (M-119) near South Lamkin Drive in Emmet County Readmond Township.

Authorities said John Steele, from Hudsonville was driving a 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle on South Lake Shore Drive when he lost control on a curve. Steele and another passenger fell from the motorcycle and sustained injuries from the fall.

Further information on the condition of the riders was not immediately available.

Both riders were transported to McLaren Northern Michigan hospital by Emmet County EMS. Deputies were assisted by Readmond-Friendship-Cross Village Fire Department and Harbor Springs Car Care.

The crash remains under investigation.
