Guthrie, OK : Two people killed in a crash on Highway 74 near Seward Road on Wednesday afternoon, June 22, 2016

Two people were killed in a crash on Highway 74 in Guthrie Wednesday afternoon.

The accident was reported on Highway 74 near Seward Road.

Authorities said the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt heading north on Highway 74 departed the roadway for an unknown reason, and over-corrected, striking a Kia Sedona in the southbound lane head-on.

One person in each vehicle died in the crash.

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Brian George, 38, of Crescent, died en route to the hospital.

A child in the Kia Sedona was also killed.

Two additional people were transported to area hospitals in critical condition.
