JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO : Semi carrying a truckload of peaches crashes on I-70 causing significant backups on Thursday, 7th September 2023

A semi-truck carrying peaches forced an hours-long closure along eastbound I-70 early Thursday morning.

At 2:21 a.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation announced that eastbound I-70 was closed between Exit 254 and Exit 260 due to a crash. As of 8:11 a.m., the right lane of eastbound I-70 was still closed.
