Reading, PA : Reading man killed when motorcycle crash on Tuesday, August 15, 2017
The Berks County coroner's office said Isaac Valentin, 22, of Reading was the man killed Tuesday night when he lost control of his motorcycle in the parking lot of the former Greater Reading Expo Center in Muhlenberg Township.
Valentin was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:03 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Debra Detweiler.
Valentin died of multiple injuries, and his death was ruled accidental.Muhlenberg police said Valentin was riding a sport bike in the parking lot of the facility at 2525 N. 12th St. about 7:15 p.m. when he lost control and crashed. His body and motorcycle came to rest several hundred feet apart, they said.
Valentin was attempting to do some kind of maneuver while another rider video recorded the stunt, Sgt. Joel V. Marino said.
Police viewed the video and it showed Valentin accelerated before losing control of the bike, he said.
Valentin had been wearing a helmet.
Police withheld his name Tuesday night so they could contact his mother. A large group of people gathered Tuesday night at the entrance of the parking lot on North 13th Street and were seen comforting each other.
Valentin was the 37th person to die this year as a result of motor vehicle crashes in Berks.
