NEW HAVEN TOWNSHIP, MI : Fatal crash at the intersection of Ohio 103 and Peru Center Road in New Haven Township on Monday, 3rd September 2018
The Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal injury crash that occurred Sunday night.The crash occurred at 10:06 p.m. at the intersection of Ohio 103 and Peru Center Road in New Haven Township.
A 2007 Honda Accord was south bound on Peru Center Road. The Honda failed to yield from a stop sign and entered the intersection of Ohio 103. The Honda was struck on the left side by a west bound 2009 Mercury Mariner. After impact, both vehicles came to rest on the south west side of the intersection.
The Honda was being driven by Paula J. Fraley, 50, of Mansfield. Fraley, who was wearing her seatbelt, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. She was transported from the scene to Willard Mercy Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. A passenger in the Honda, Fraley’s daughter was also injured. Clarissa T. Cousart, 12, sustained non-incapacitating injuries. She was transported to Willard Mercy Hospital where she was treated. She also was wearing her seatbelt.
The Mercury was being driven by Kennadi E. Martin, 17, from Norwalk. Martin sustained minor injuries and was wearing her seatbelt. A passenger in the Mercury also sustained minor injuries. Mariah P. Slater, 17, also of Norwalk was in the front passenger seat and was wearing her seatbelt.
Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash. The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Willard Police Department, Willard Fire and EMS, and Wilcox Towing. The crash remains under investigation.
