Two people were killed in a car crash at around 2 p.m. in east Fort Worth on Friday.
A white Ford F-250 and a gray Acura sedan collided along the southbound lanes of East Loop 820 near Ramey Avenue, killing two people.
Melissa Shearin lives in neighborhood along the access road and heard the crash.
"It sounded like a freight train coming in my house, and I told my son, and I just said 'run, get down' I didn't know, because we've had some wrecks here before," said Shearin. "It was frightening, very frightening."
Shearin and other neighbors ran to the crash scene, they found two young men in the car that took the most force from the impact.
"One had a pulse and one did not," said Shearin. "It was horrific, and I prayed with him with another woman, for about five minutes and then the first responders came and tried to get him out of the car."
Shearin says the second man died at the scene. Through tears Shearin said family members of the two men arrived at the scene, but first responders kept them at a distance.
"I have children that age, so my heart goes out to their families," Shearin said.
Shearin said she saw four other people walk away from the crash that seemed to be OK.
Traffic was diverted to the access road as emergency crews worked to investigate and clear the scene. The highway reopened by 5 p.m.
The cause of the crash is not yet known.
