Cornelius, NC : Woman killed in a single-vehicle car crash on Catawba Avenue in Cornelius on Wednesday, June 8, 2016

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle car accident in Cornelius Wednesday, according to officials.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. on Catawba Avenue near Exit 28. The victim was identified as Donna Reynolds, who lived in Mooresville. She pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said Reynolds was on the I-77 South off ramp of Exit 28 when she crashed her car into the center wall on the Catawba Avenue Diverging Diamond bridge. She was the only one in the vehicle.

Cornelius Police Traffic Unit’s Accident Reconstruction Investigators said Reynolds may have had a medical emergency while driving, which could have led to the crash.
