Houston, TX : Man killed in front of family by alleged drunk driver on Friday, October, 13th 2017
A man was struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver Friday night, police said.
Police said the victim had pulled over on a service road of the Katy Freeway around 9 p.m. after his Chevy Impala ran out of gas. He then called his wife and two children, who brought him a gas can.
As he was filling his car, police said a drunk person driving a Chevy Tahoe crossed over two lanes and struck the man on the side of the road. The driver of the Impala was then propelled roughly 20 feet, police said. He died from his injuries in a local hospital, where his wife was also transported for emotional distress.
Police said Friday night that charges of intoxication manslaughter were pending against the alleged drunk driver.
