Topeka, KS : A 19-year-old from Dodge City was killed in a rollover crash on Saturday, May 27, 2017

A 19-year-old from Dodge City was killed in a rollover crash Saturday night in Hodgeman County.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, Alvaro Velasquez-Lorenzo, 19, of Dodge City was driving a passenger car about 7:25 p.m. Saturday, southbound on 210 Road north of H Road, southwest of Jetmore. He was riding with one passenger, 19-year-old Nicolas Velasquez-Ortiz of Dodge City.

Velasquez-Lorenzo lost control of the car and went left of center. He overcorrected, and the car rolled multiple times before stopping upright in the west ditch, according to the crash log.

The passenger, Velasquez-Ortiz, was declared dead at the scene. The driver, Velasquez-Lorenzo, was taken to Hodgeman County Health Center with possible injures.

Kansas Highway Patrol reported both men were using seat belts.
