Buffington Township, PA : One dead, one injured in Indiana County crash on Shortcut Road in Buffington early Saturday morning, September 13, 2014

An Indiana County man died early Saturday morning after he lost control of his car and was ejected, state police at Indiana said. Chad Adamsky, 27, of Vintondale died shortly after midnight in the accident on Shortcut Road in Buffington, state police and the county coroner's office said. Adamsky, who was not wearing a seat belt, failed to negotiate a curve in the road, police said. His southbound Pontiac Sunfire went into a ditch, then rolled over several times, ejecting him through a side window, authorities said. The car ended up on its roof, with Adamsky trapped underneath, the coroner's office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:44 a.m. by Coroner Jerry L. Overman Jr. A passenger, Brittany Harrington, 19, also of Vintondale, was injured and taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown with a head injury, police said. She was treated and released, a nursing supervisor said. Alcohol might have been a factor in the crash, according to the coroner's office. An autopsy is planned.
